Farm Sunday
We would like to welcome you all to our farm on Sunday June 7th (from 2.00pm) for Farm Sunday.
Organised by LEAF to literally open farm gates, the public can have an enjoyable afternoon on a real farm, meeting real farmers & asking any questions about our farm.
We aim to show you what we do and why, young calves, sheep and lambs growing, growing crops and machinery, together with a beautiful
farm walk and plenty of time to ask anything you like about our farm.
More information about both LEAF and Farm Sunday can be
found at www.farmsunday.org or feel free to phone us on 01579 371144 to find out more. Looking forward to seeing you come rain or shine.

Spring 2009
Spring Sowing!
Spring on the farm and everything seems very busy. It is time to start working the land before the crops are sown. Firstly the manure is spread on the land to provide the ‘food’ for the plants to grow. You may have smelt a lot of countryside smells recently!

The ground is ploughed as soon as possible to incorporate the manure into the soil and to start to get the soil ready for drilling the seeds.

The seed drill works very hard. It rotevates the soil to provide a good seed bed and then the seed is evenly drilled in rows.

Afterwards it is rolled to ensure there is good contact between the soil and seed. And then we wait….
